How I made an extra $15K using generosity
Hey — it’s Danny.
Today I’m going to give you a model for making cash — and fast!
But first … a very IMPORTANT announcement.
Edupreneuring is becoming Cheat Codes. No action is required on your part. I’ll add you to the list myself.
I’ve been on a creative tear recently …
And I invented a new way I want to serve you across different categories of content
Here’s what you can expect soon:
🧠 Field Notes: Real-world insights on category design, founder psychology, and flipping the board.
🧪 Signal Reports: Tactical breakdowns of what’s working (and what’s broken) in business, media, and monetization.
👾 Glitch Log: Fatal assumptions most founders make (and how to escape them).
💸 Cashed Checks: Unclaimed business ideas and category wedges you can steal.
🕹️ Boss Fight: Premium drops and challenges for those ready to level up.
Some will be free. Some paid. All awesome.
I’m gonna take some time off in July to focus on the transition and will start posting regularly again by August.
And now for your regularly scheduled newsletter …
OFF CAMPUS
🤬 F*cking hate that guy: Conflict is up. Here’s how to manage it.
⏳Days of Our Lives: Not only was my mom’s favorite soap opera, but it gives perspective life. One year to a 5 year old is 20% of their entire existence. When you’re 50, one year is 2%. So if you’re reading this and over 25, how does that change what you’re building TODAY?
💰Great investment: The best $200/year I spend is on Category Pirates. Sign up and then read their post on “Vibe Creating.” (Also, use my link to sign up. It’s not an affiliate, but I want to be #1 on their leaderboard 😉).
🤣 Random: Use this simple prompt and see what you get. Here’s what I got lol.

THIS WEEK’S LESSON
The "generosity hack" that added an extra $15K to my bank account
I’ve taken courses.
Joined masterminds.
Hired coaches.
I’m a learning super-consumer (some might say I have a problem).
And each time I learn, my goal is to learn one thing that might be a game changer for me.
Today, I’m going to teach you that one lesson and how it’s already landed $15K in my bank (and fast) with more cash on the way …
And this matters right now as schools close out one budget and open a new one soon.
Steal like an artist
I was on a call with Justin Baeder.
We were talking business. And about half-way through catching him up with my Ruckus Maker status Justin cut me off and said, “You should hire Ron. He helped me unlock the next level.”
And so I did.
Because when someone further ahead of you tells you to do something.
You do it.
Well, only if you admire them.
So I reached out to Ron.
Hadn’t read an email or social post from him in my life.
And I wrote him a check for multiple thousands of dollars.
It was on.
I learned a lot from him.
How to do a successful digital launch (that I taught my friend Mitch become a bestseller).
How to sell in a non-sleazy way (and make more money).
How to write different kinds of content (that people actually paid attention too).
But one of the greatest lessons I learned from Ron, he didn’t even explicitly teach.
He modeled it.
Generosity as a business model
Ron (like any good businessman) had a good, better, best offer.
I eventually went through all three of his offers.
But the thing that set Ron apart from others …
He allowed me to put what I already invested with him toward the next offer.
And by doing so, created a win-win situation.
This was a HUGE for me. Never experienced it before. And I probably spent 10x as much with Ron than I would have if he didn’t use this model.
Here’s how it looks in my world …
I have a private online community for principals.
It’s called The Ruckus Maker Club. It costs $1000 a year.
So this summer I thought about who added the most value in our community.
I wrote them a simple message. Something like:

And most people said “YES, I want to hear more.”
On the call I l explained they could take that $1000 they already invested in The Ruckus Maker Club and put that toward a membership in the The Ruckus Maker Mastermind.
$3500 - $1000 = $2500.
A super deal.
An easy sale.
Money in the bank.
Why generosity works
This works because it honors the work you’ve already done with someone while still maintaining the value and integrity of your other offer.
And it’s not a deal that everyone gets out their IRL or on the internet.
In Category Design, we talk about superconsumers. These are our raving fans.
And it’s our job to figure out the variety of ways we can serve them.
By creating these win-win scenarios …
The good will extends for years to come.
I wouldn’t be surprised if these new clients stayed in the mastermind for years to come.
So that’s the lesson: Count the current ways people spend money on your current offer as deposits into a future offer.
And if you’d like some help designing that offer, give me a call.
In the past I have:
Helped one Former Educator Founder add $20K to one contract after a 15-minute phone call
Helped another add 37.5K in one conversation
And another add $200K after a year of working together.
What could we accomplish together?
