Success Looks Like 11am Eggs (Not 5am Hustle)

In partnership with

Hey — it’s Danny.

They told me success looked like hustle.

Early mornings. Late nights. Packed calendars.

More revenue, more meetings, more grind.

And for a while, I believed them.

Until one morning—cracking eggs at 10:45am—I realized…

Maybe success looks different when you design the game instead of playing someone else’s.

This post is about how I redefined success, what that changed for me, and why most Former Educator Founders don’t need more hustle.

They need clarity. And maybe 11am eggs.

THIS WEEK’S LESSON

Success (Over Eggs)

I’m cracking eggs in my kitchen.

Three, to be exact. Arugula on the side. Half an avocado. Sparkling water.

This is breakfast. But it’s also something else …

A reset.

A ritual.

A reminder of what success really is.

I used to think success meant a million in the bank, a big house, and a resume full of wins.

These days, I’m not so sure.

Lately, I’ve been on a path—growth, exploration, peeling back layers of identity I didn’t know I had.

I thought I knew where it led...

But life, as it does, had other ideas.

I clean up the kitchen—quickly. Not because I love cleaning, but because my wife once said a messy kitchen stresses her out. I love her. So I clean.

That feels like success too.

Soon, I have a hard conversation. One I don’t want to have, but need to.

I breathe.

I practice two tools from The Tools: The Reversal of Desire and Inner Authority.

It’s 11am. I’m clocking in.

Not to a cubicle. Not to chaos.

I’m clocking in to Do School Different.

And I can’t help but ask:

Why would I want any of this to change?

Success used to mean hustle. Now, it looks like:

  • Long hikes with Alba.

  • Traveling anywhere with my wife—because all I need is my brain, a device, and a good Wi-Fi signal.

  • Earning enough to never go back.

  • Saving enough for a rainy day.

  • Giving enough to be generous without hesitation.

This is my success.

And I built it on purpose.

Most Former Educator Founders chase hustle.

But maybe what they really need…

Is clarity.

And 11am eggs.
